The Tanzania Surgical Association (TSA)

Tanzania Surgical Association (TSA) is the torch bearer of all surgical and subspecialty surgical associations in Tanzania. This year alongside our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Scientific Conference we are playing hosts to an International Association –Pan African Pediatric Surgery Association (PAPSA) and its close collaborators.

Indeed, the 2010 AGM is different as we will have colleagues, collaborators and friends from afar to discuss, share our experiences with and learn from something in our field of medicine. It is the naked truth that surgery, and for that matter pediatric surgery in particular, is in a process of continuous development. Myths are being uncovered; some ‘no touch’ or ‘leave alone and see’ areas are now being opened up. All these developments are either of individual or isolated group efforts. It is only through such forums where we can get the opportunity to discuss and share our thoughts and concerns about our experiences and discoveries, and develop new ideas.  Then on departure, we can take home and apply or further develop the ideas for the benefit of our beloved person in focus – The Patient.

I once again on behalf of my organizing committee urge members to participate and warmly welcome our guests “to the harbor of peace – Dar es Salaam”. Let us have a fruitful and memorable conference.
